Thank you for your interest in the Literacy Volunteer Program! The Literacy Volunteer Program focuses on supporting young readers in all Wayzata Public Schools elementary schools.
- The program takes place November–May.
- Volunteers listen to and support students as they read aloud from books for 20-30 minutes, once a week during the school day.
- The program supports students in grades K–5. Most of the students are in 3rd or 4th grade.
- Each student in the program is assigned to one volunteer.
- Volunteers can read with more than one student each week if they choose.
To apply for this school year's program, please complete this signup form. Afterwards, we will follow up with additional information, including:
- Volunteer background checks: Required every 3 years.
- Orientation: All new volunteers must attend an orientation meeting in October.
